What we’re looking for and why we need you!

At EdLight, we know that uniting a student’s village can lead to transformative educational experiences. We are diligently working to expand our platform to include a family-facing application. Our goal is to increase family engagement in academic conversations by making student work more accessible without an added lift.

EdLight is currently seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join our team as a Special Projects Assistant. This position is temporary, and has a 6-month contract with a start date of October 15, 2023. In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead and drive the development of an AI-powered system that seamlessly integrates families into the work that their students are doing each day. At EdLight, we are committed to reimagining equitable, data-driven instruction in classrooms, and we need your expertise and passion to make it happen!

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the advancement of innovation initiatives through the entire innovation life cycle, including design, development, evaluation, launch, and scaling of family-facing initiatives.
  • Plan, direct, and review the goals of grant awards for family-facing products, ensuring alignment with the EdLight’s overall objectives.
    Collaborate with the CEO to coordinate the execution of the EdLight’s grant budget, strategic plans and defined goals.
  • Monitor the accomplishment of goals and report/audit organizational performance towards those goals.

Communication and Partnership:

  • Coordinate with current school partners to plan, organize, and facilitate in-person focus groups and empathy interviews with families. Conversations with families will occur both virtually and in-person.
  • Conduct intentional conversation with families to gain insight on their current level of engagement, including wins and barriers.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and events, both internally and externally, ensuring seamless execution and follow-up.

Reporting:

  • The Special Projects Assistant will report directly to EdLight’s CEO.

Term:

  • This is a temporary, contracted position from October 15, 2023 to April 15, 2024.

Desired skills & qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading and delivering successful initiatives, utilizing change management, project management, and business process management methodologies
  • Willingness to travel (~25%)
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute effective deployment plans for initiatives
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

The perks

  • Pay: $4,000 / month
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, candidate’s timezone. Flexible, remote working environment. Travel is required!
